Responsible Energy Use

Energy Reduction

Short Term Energy Saving

Pumphouse

  • Turn off lights when not in use to save electricity
  • Water during non peak hour times to save costs of electricity.
  • Fill the irrigation pond later in the day to save electricity costs.

Maintenance Shop

  • Turn off lights when not in use.
  • Use air to blow off machines at the end of the day to reduce the amount of water being used.
  • Switch to new efficient light bulbs.

Clubhouse

  • Turn off lights when not in use to save electricity.
  • Switch to new efficient light bulbs.

Electric Cart Charging

  • Once carts are at a full charge, unplug them and rotate to the carts that aren't fully charged.
  • Charge carts during non peak hour times of the day, during the night.

Long Term Energy Saving

Pumphouse

  • Install a VFD if not done so already. This will help to not turn the pumps on all at once and slowly, since turing them on all at once will demand a lot of energy which costs more.
  • Install more windows to allow for natural light to fill the building, thus reducing the amount of electricity used.

Maintenance Shop

  • Install solar panels to provide electricity to the shop and offices associated with it.
  • Use Biodiesel for any diesel machines that may be in the fleet to help reduce emissions. Most machines are now made to accept biodiesel.
  • Install more windows to allow for natural light to fill the building, thus reducing the amount of electricity used.
  • Use electric mowers or mower reels to save fuel when mowing.
  • Motion sensored lights for the entire maintenance facility to save electricity.

Clubhouse

  • Install solar panels to provide electricity to the shop and offices associated with it.
  • Install more windows to allow for natural light to fill the building, thus reducing the amount of electricity used.
  • Have motion sensored lights for the bathrooms.

Electric Cart Charging

  • Purchase solar powered golf carts that charge by the sun.
  • Install solar panels to charge all of the carts, as the charging station is outside.
